Cremation Legacy Life simplifies the direct cremation service process by caring for loved ones after transition & processing all necessary documents. Our experienced team handles the filing of paperwork & requesting of permits. We generate all death certificate in a timely manner & provide guidance at each stage of the process, ensuring peace of mind to families.
The Process
- When a loved one passes away, contact Cremation Legacy Life for assistance in arranging transportation to bring your loved one into our care at 713-242-8188.
- After your loved one is under our care, we will initiate the documentation process for the next of kin to sign paperwork for the direct cremation services or services selected.
- We will then assign the doctor that’s designated to sign the death certificate. The hospital, hospice nurse, or medical examiner will provide the necessary information about the designated doctor. (Cremation cannot proceed until the death certificate is signed by the doctor)
- Once death certificate has been signed, the cremation process will take place.
- The time frame of receiving your loved ones ashes back usually varies depending on how long it takes the doctor to sign the death certificate. However, we initially contact the doctors office to advise assistant of designated death certificate to be signed, which helps guide the process.
- Once the process has been completed, your loved ones ashes will be returned upon next of kin instructions. (Hand Delivery, By Mail, Pickup, etc)
